A New Way to Build Selection Screens in FMX
Selection screens have always been powerful.
They let guests choose their experience and give you flexibility in your workflow.
But visually, they were limited.
Each screen had one background, with invisible clickable areas on top of it. If something didn’t fit the event, you had to rebuild the entire screen.
So we changed it.

We’ve added a powerful new capability to the Selection Screen feature.
Instead of assigning one background to the entire screen, you can now assign:
- An image
- A video
- AI-generated visuals
to each clickable area, directly inside the Workflow Builder.
Each option becomes its own designed element, while staying fully clickable and responsive.
⚙️ Built Right Into Your Workflow
You don’t need to switch tools.
Area Media is fully integrated into the FMX Cloud Workflow Builder. Click or add an area in your selection screen, and you’ll see the new Area Media panel.
From there, you can:

Choose existing images or videos from your asset library.
⬆️ Upload Media
Add client assets instantly, without leaving the builder.
It goes straight to your assets and sets itself as the area background in one step.
✨ Generate with AI
This is where things get exciting.
Create AI transformations on the spot using:
- AI Draw Me
- AI Modify
Add your base photo, type a prompt, and generate.
💡 Test your AI prompts without running the booth
Until now, the only way to see how an AI prompt would look was to set up the booth and run the entire workflow. With Area Media, you can upload a base photo directly into any area and apply AI Draw Me or AI Modify right in the builder. This is a small change that makes building workflows dramatically faster.

1. AI Prompt Selection: Show the Result, Not Just the Name
When guests choose an AI style, they usually don’t know what the result will look like.
With Area Media, you can show it.
Place an example AI-generated image inside each option.
Instead of guessing, guests see exactly what they’re choosing before they tap.
2. Layout Selection: Use Your Actual Overlay PNGs
If you’re letting guests pick their print layout or photo format, the most natural thing to show them is the layout itself.
Upload your overlay PNGs directly into each area, and let guests see the exact frame they’ll get.
3. Custom Screens: Build Everything in the Cloud
Need a custom navigation/experience selection screen?
You can now build it directly inside the Workflow Builder:
- Upload a background as your bottom layer
- Place and resize areas on top
- Upload or generate visuals on the spot
💡 Pro tip: Use "Create with AI" to generate icons, graphics, or animated visuals for any area.
